David Anderson writes feature article on contract damages for the Government Contract Costs, Pricing & Accounting Report (July 2015)

The article “A Damage Expert – Does the Government Trial Attorney Need One?” is a practical guide for government trial attorneys on how to litigate contract damages. A trial attorney’s success in litigation often depends on the team he or she builds. It is therefore critical that the trial attorney know what the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) does and does not do and where a damage expert, in addition, to DCAA might be needed. The article contrasts roles of DCAA and the damage expert and then offers advice on how to determine whether a case warrants the added cost of a damage expert.
