At an October 1, 2014 forum for minority– and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs) in Albany, Governor Cuomo announced that New York State would set a new goal of awarding 30 percent of State contracts to state-certified MWBEs, up substantially from the 20 percent benchmark that is presently in place.
