Numerous Secretary of State offices across the U.S. have posted a notice warning corporations about a deceptive solicitation. The questionable solicitation is often entitled “NOTICE OF POTENTIAL COMPLIANCE VIOLATION” from the Business Compliance Division. This form can be easily mistaken as official correspondence from the State of New York or other foreign jurisdiction.
